I am a wife and mother of six children. After receiving my BA from Crichton College in 1998, I took time to start my precious family before beginning birth work.
My motivation in becoming a midwife and monitrice began with the personal desire to serve women and to enhance my own education of birth. I grew up surrounded by a family of loving, strong women and I saw how important it is to come alongside and support one another during life-changing moments. Pregnancy, childbirth and the bonding between mother and baby are some of the most transformational times in life. I believe strongly in the power and normalcy of birth, and I find incredible joy watching this miracle unfold with each family I serve.
I am a licensed midwife with Abundant Life Midwifery serving in Tennessee and Mississippi. As a midwife, I enjoy equipping families as they walk through the pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum care in the comfort of their own home.
For my clients who choose a hospital delivery, yet desire support while laboring at home and access to the Midwifery model of care, I offer monitrice services.
My desire for each family is to serve alongside them as they choose their own birth experience. I want to equip each family with knowledge, confidence, techniques, education and support while we walk through this unique journey together.
In my free time I enjoy studying about herbs and essential oil‘s, gardening and having fun with my family.
Services Offered: Midwifery, Monitrice

Hello there! My name is Anna Wilson. I am a trained Doula, a Certified Lactation Counselor, and also have an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development/Education. I am CPR/First Aid Certified, and hold over 400 hours of training in various topics dealing with families, infants, and trauma. My husband and I have four beautiful children: two that grew in my belly, and two that have grown in my heart. Before birth work, I spent my life as the owner and director of an inclusive day care center. My husband and I have been foster parents since 2013, and I partnered with DCS in the area to provide childcare for children with special needs, or behaviors. God gave me a passion for families and children and I've always felt that providing education and loving support can make a world of difference in the lives of families I was able to serve!
In 2014, I gave birth to my oldest Belly Baby and felt a sense of loss at my experience. I started my birth worker journey in the summer of 2016 after the birth of my youngest child. I became addicted to the difference that a positive birth experience can make for mothers and babies and I decided right then and there that I wanted to help these mamas from the very beginning! I did a year long mentor-ship with a certified doula and did my formal training through Galey McDougal in Nashville in March of 2018. After receiving my CLC, I started volunteering at The Desoto Family Center Clinic and provide free lactation support for women in the area.

I like to spend my free time fishing on the lake with my family, reading, listening to records, and chatting with good friends!
